What to do with 15 Minutes of Fame?

I loved this week's This American Life Podcast about the infamous Toronto Tunnel Digger (Elton McDonald) from last winter and the follow-up article from The Star. It goes to show that sometimes you should just have more faith in people and give them the freedom to do what they want. It's also a good example of learning new skills as an adult to fulfill the dreams of your own inner child.
Elton McDonald used what little time he had in the limelight to raise money and fund a project to give back to his community. Giving youths in his area a chance to make money and acquire skills in lawn maintenance while also taking them on social trips to places like Canada's Wonderland.
There should be more attention on good news like this and also small articles written about the lives of people in the community to stave off irrational fears and stereotypes that people develop from being isolated from different social groups and cultures.
